Reflection of Life 

William “Earl” Harrison Sr.

Son of the late Sylvester Eugene Harrison and Mae Frances Harrison (Thomas)

Earl completed his earthly assignment on August 13th, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife Cherry, his daughter Marcell, son EJ,, and his grandson Johnny Dylan Watkins (Jay).

Earl was born in Troy, NY on July 31, 1952. He attended public school in the city of Troy and graduated from Troy High School in 1971. After graduating he began working for Bendix in Watervliet and also obtained a part time position at the Troy Boys and Girls Club, where he made an immediate impact.  He began working with the youth and eventually became the club’s athletic director.  His cousin,mentor, and friend, Mr. Roy Pompey immediately recognized his gift for connecting with young people and guided him to his position within the Troy City School District. After Starting as an aide at the city’s Alternate Learning Center, he obtained his NYS Teaching Assistant Certification.  He dedicated 32 years to the school district and his entire adult life to uplifting young people all over the capital district.

He built his legacy through his passion and commitment to helping those who came after him.

Supported,Encouraged,Inspired,Guided,Disciplined,Coached,Humored,Fed,Drove and most importantly LOVED without conditions.

Earl’s love for sports can not go without mention.  He was a standout, 3 sport athlete and continued playing, coaching, and officiating throughout his life. Some highlights include his softball days with the Legendary Panthers organization, and his elite bowling skills. He was even inducted into the bowling hall of fame for his perfect single game. He was not shy about expressing his love for his Cowboys, Lakers, and NY Yankees.

Earl received numerous honors and awards for his service and dedication in the community.

In addition to his wife, children, and grandson, Earl leaves behind his brother Kenneth Eugene (Twila), his sisters, Patricia Kirby, and Sharon Ferguson, all of Troy. His uncles, Roosevelt and William Thomas also of Troy.  His sister in laws,BettyVenson(Fred),DorothyDukes(Johnny),Ethel Prince(Marvin), Felicia Prince, his Brother in Laws, Booker Prince Jr. and Darius “Tony” Prince. He also leaves behind his nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins.
